Title: Director of Worship 

Purpose: The Director of Worship shall be a committed Christian who helps the congregation connect, grow, serve and go by leading and coordinating weekly worship, and leading people to become more deeply devoted followers of Jesus by going deeper in the core practices of connecting with God.   

Responsible To:  Lead Pastor 

Hours:  Full-time, according to the needs of the ministry. Includes weekend and evening hours.

Description of Duties:

  • Lead the Worship Team
    • Develop and maintain a team that plays quality music that enhances and guides congregational worship, working also to disciple team members as they grow in their relationship with Jesus.
    • Schedule teams for all worship services using Planning Center Online
    • Set up and strike equipment for rehearsals and services
    • Lead worship team rehearsals for all worship services
    • Shepherd team members through devotion and prayer, or by delegating this to team members.
    • Setup and/or create click and multitrack for worship services, or delegate to team members.
    • Maintain communication with team members about upcoming events/new music.
    • Prayerfully plan spoken transitions and leadership moments between songs.
  • Develop Leaders
    • Continually identify, recruit, and mentor new people to lead worship.
    • Grow and develop the gifts of team members so they are all worship leaders.
  • Coordinate and Plan for Worship Experiences         
    • Prayerfully choose praise and worship songs for all contemporary worship services using Planning Center Online in accordance with sermon series and/or message.
    • Coordinate weekly with pastors on elements of worship and flow of worship services.
    • Help lead worship design team monthly with Lead Pastor.
    • Coordinate and implement creative and practical elements from worship design team.
    • Coordinate the worship slides for music with the tech director.
  • Leadership and Administration
    • Develop and oversee budget and expenditures for ministries related to contemporary worship and tech.
    • Coordinate with the Tech Director to maintain and replace instruments, microphones, and other worship tech.
    • Engage, along with the Lead Pastor and others, in strategic planning for the expansion and growth of worship ministries with the goal of making more disciples who connect, grow, serve, and go.
  • Staff Support
    • Resource and support the Choral Coordinator and Tech Director
  • Contribute to Overall Mission and Vision
    • In addition to the specific area of worship leadership, approximately ΒΌ of the full-time position shall be used to serve in areas that serve the overall mission of Faith United Methodist Church.  Some examples of this might include areas of communication, social media, discipleship, and graphic design.  The specific area(s) will be established with the lead pastor according to the gifts of the worship leader and where they meet the missional needs of the church.
  • Other duties as assigned by lead pastor.


Title: Assistant Preschool Teacher (Half Day)

Purpose: The Assistant Preschool Teacher shall be a committed Christian who helps Faith Church to connect, grow, serve and go by assisting the Lead Preschool Teacher to provide a safe, and loving educational environment for the preschool children and their families.

Qualifications: Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education preferred, but not required.  Experience in working with children in a day care or preschool setting a plus. Must have either a degree in education or related field (counseling, social work, etc) OR minimum 2 years of experience working with preschool age children. Must be able to clear Criminal, Child Abuse, and FBI clearance background checks.

Responsible To:  Lead Preschool Teacher

Hours:  School hours are 8:30-11:30, but teachers arrive by 8:00 and stay until children are dismissed, plus necessary planning and prep time, under the direction of the Lead Preschool Teacher.  Assistant Teacher is also responsible to attend several evening events throughout the year, including Parent Meeting (Aug.), Open House (Nov.), Christmas Program (Dec.), Parent-Teacher Conferences (Mar. & for 4s teachers only),Public Open House (Mar.), Registration (Mar.), Annual Yard Sale (Mar/Apr.), Combo Day (May), Closing Programs (Two evenings in May)

Description of Duties:

  • Daily Responsibilities
    • At the beginning of each session, take attendance, check bags for parent communication, and be present for circle time.
    • Prepare a variety of crafts that reflect the weekly topics and skills of the preschool and preschool children, focusing on strengthening fine motor skills and personal organizational skills.
    • At the end of each session, dismiss children for the day.
    • Plan and execute gross motor activities.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • At beginning and end of year, assist Lead Preschool Teacher in setting up and tearing down for the year.
    • Working with Lead Preschool Teacher to schedule field trips and send reminders to parents.
      Responsible for scheduling student snack days on a monthly basis, to be added to monthly calendar.
    • Assist Lead Preschool Teacher with preparation for Parent Evening, and other special events.
    • Conduct end of the year inventory for arts and crafts, including ordering supplies and cups and napkins for snacks.
    • Coordinate classroom parties
    • Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Lead Preschool Teacher.
